Some very amusing suggestions ( and no doubt entirely misplaced )in there - Kathy a bunnyboiler , Krizon exulting in young athletic endeavour .

Frankenheimer ? Well I am a fan of The Train and Birdman but no

Hitchcock, Malle,Capra, Scorsese for me

I don't get out much and haven't seen many films so I had no idea who Shawn Levy is. I Googled him and found out he was responsible for Cheaper By The Dozen, a film my kids have on DVD but I can imagine what it's like

Huh, Scorsese: overhyped, overblown, windy old bugger with bushy eyebrows.

Riefenstahl: as long as I'm recognised for admiring golden youth at its most graceful and not the Nazi Party, I'm pretty okay with that. I did have a large book of work she did photographing African wild animals and naked men - marvellous stuff. This has sadly reminded me that I no longer have it - cast aside during yet another downsizing exercise. I could've spent a few hours in innocent lust otherwise.

Sergio Leone for me AC although a large part of that is down to Ennio Morricone.
ditto - but I never made AC's list of nominations  :P ;)

Warbler, if the length of your films was in ratio to the length of your posts, it'd have to be a Bollywood director!

I believe some desperado once made one that lasted 24 hours, and involved the lights going on and off in the Empire State Building? I think we'd call it a web cam today, but I'm reasonably certain such a film exists. Mind you, it must have been seriously dull for about 8-9 hours (provided it was shot in Winter) It's only when dusk falls that the serious action starts and the film swings into life. <_<

I suppose it could always double as an instrument of torture, if it wasn't exactly a box office hit though. Now showing in Cuban naval bases

Was it not Andy Warhol who made that one Warbler. I believe before making it he said "it's about time someone started to make bad films and, the thing about these bad films is they'll be good". He then went on to make Empire State Building and The Kiss (a film about a passionate embrace that goes on for endless hours).

I hate so-called "artists". More critics should use the phrase "this person is full of wank" when reviewing their work.

 ... and Michael Winner gets Merlin! (Sorry, no idea about Gerald Thomas's body of work - was it the 'Carry On' series?)

Excellent matches. I had to wikipedia a few of them. Honest Tom's and Euro's are particularly apt. As is Merlin's.

I am wondering what it is about Jordan that makes you feel that I am a fan? Jordan's films tend to portray cross dressers, provos, homosexuals and miscreants.
