Having just been involved in said argument (we might have had this one before?). I ended up nominating (apart from the Eastwood Spaghettis which I know was Moreconi and invaraibly brilliant) Kellys Heroes as a title piece. Has anyone got any idea where I could get a copy. Bare in mind i'm pretty IT illiterate but I'm guessing I must be able to get it off the Internet, (even though I wouldn't know where to start).

For the record the Thomas Crown Affair came up as well.

Any other nominations?

Remegio (Isan) was used as the title music and throughout the film Le Conseguenze dell'amore and would be my favourite but I doubt many would rank it amongst the greatest.

Hans Zimmer is just amazing....brother has the Lord Of The Rings soundtracks as well and while not a big classical fan some of the music from Howard Shore in that is beautiful.

The theme from 'Harry Lime' is probably one of the most immediately recognisable, though the Morriconi scores are, too - unfortunately, I don't always remember which is which. I don't think you can forget the track backing the men where they're walking in their dark suits in 'Reservoir Dogs', either. You only have to hear the first few bars to be reminded of that particular scene, and hence the whole film. Likewise, I feel, with 'Trainspotting'.

The piece of music used in the film "Champions" which is also used for the Grand National, has me in tears everytime

My choices are based on relevence for the Film as well as the quality of the music.
----------------
The Mission
Dambusters
Gone with the Wind
Big Country
Mag't Seven
Godfather
BladeRunner

Love the music from A Room With A View, recently I quite liked music in Elizabethtown. But you can't beat Walk the Line,Johnny Cash all the way!

The piece from Champions used for the Grand National is something I've wanted to get my hands on for a while but have not been able to find.

My favourite soundtracks would be Gladiator, Moulin Rouge and Plunkett & Macleane.
