Actually, the survival cell has done a remarkable job. Both drivers (if their were indeed two) walked away from the crash, with only the passenger (suspected driver) having a bloody nose.

It's a massive story in the States. All kinds of intrigue surrounding it.

162 on a country back road? Whoa... that's one helluva fine coming up, from a country with a top legal speed of 55!

Oh, dunno - thought by saying it's a 'massive story in the States' the accident occurred there. I thought the legal limit was 55, tracks. Wot izzit, then?

That's a good question, Krizon, but I know on some of the interstates (seriously large motorways) speed limits are as high as 75. One thing about those interstates (particularly I-75 etc.) is that the speed limits can change dramatically for no apparent reason (particularly in the middle of fecking nowhere) and it's very easy to miss one the 50MPH limit sign. And yes, I am speaking from personal experience...

I did drive around Florida back in the mid-80s, on a longish hols with the Mammy, so I'm a bit miffed that I could've gone a lot faster than 55! The worst thing I found was getting to grips with overhead traffic lights - nearly bowled through the red one directly outside the car lot where I hired the car from!
