It’s 39 years since my first stay at the Festival, missed 2 due to work commitments and of course there was the F&M cancellation. There 9 of us in total staying this year though not all for the duration. We stay in terrific accommodation in Prestbury with warm and generous hosts to whom we were introduced by a friend of Cantoris. A far cry from the pub we stayed in the early years. Whatever the weather or the results a good time awaits all.
A ****-up by one of us, not me this time, honest, means we are short of a Final Flight ticket on both Tuesday and Wednesday. They sold out some time ago. Can’t leave one person out and it is a wristband entry so I need to acquire them and recognise that a reasonable premium will most likely be required. It is usually easy to get standard entry tickets but Final Flight tickets I just don’t know. So any assistance by way of spares or possible sources would be appreciated.

Have you considered forgery, Lawrence?? Security on doors at the Festival, doesn't exactly fit the description 'Ring of Steel'.

I can't help with FF tickets, I'm afraid. Hope you get sorted out.

As Grassy says security at the festival isn't the sharpest I was able to get into members with an old out of date newbury badge for 2 years. Going back to your problem We had the same situation last year and We were able to get 1 off a tout for an extra fiver.

You pair of incorrigible miscreants trying to lead me astray.
Unfortunately the only forger I knew never got beyond the white fiver.
As to blagging entry a bloke I know very well indeed for many years attended top level sports events requiring often highly valued tickets by rolling up some small value notes around newspaper in his hand and slipping his hand into that of almost universal ‘helpful’ turnstile operator. The same person soon realised that as the operator could not check what he received before slipping it into his pocket or inside his shirt, it was not necessary to include real money at all. Wembley was the best place for that because once over or under the turnstile he could quickly move round the stadium even if there was someone looking for miscreants.
At Cheltenham I understand that the 2 badges for 5 people trick can still work but the bloke I know doesn’t do that nowadays. He’s been an annual member for some years. Possibly because he can’t run that fast anymore.
As to Final Flight we watched people trying various methods, largely distraction/diversion last year. The guys that were on the door were people I would hire to control entry.

A scalper is probably your best option then, TS........though note previous warnings about fines/spankings, to be doled-out for anyone who gets pinched even speaking to one.
