Great to see the new track have its first birthday last night ,with a very successful evening proving that racing was overdue in this part of the UK. Good that founder Dai Walters had the winner of the first race, and that Welsh trainers won all six races.

It's very good news that it's doing so well - it sounds as if it's well-managed and had its financial act in place before it kicked off. What's the feedback from the riders on its NH course, Roddy? Do they find it's fair and attractive to their horses - it looks it to me, but that's only a tv view.

AP and RJ certainly love it Kri. Yes generally it is an excellent course for jumpers, drains perfectly. Bit of trouble with the sun as Cheltenham does, but it just meant a bit of rescheduling of the races if there is sun. You will see racing there in Winter time when there is no chance elsewhere, thanks to being on the sea.

Thanks for that, Roddy. Drainage - so important to get right. Plumpton can still be a mire but raceable now, thanks to huge work on its drainage problems, although its infield can be hopeless for vehicles to park; Lingfield hasn't invested in draining its back straight properly and continues to lose from its preciously-small NH list because of it. It'd be a lovely track if Arena would chuck a few quid at doing the job properly.
