Please post your selections for Day 1 on this thread. Please also most an alternative for all 3 selections as there may be N/R. Remember I don't do losing!

Day 1 - The Talking Horses Cabinet

Format: 15 singles matches

Rules: £1000 to bet each day.
Three selections to be made, only one of which can be each way
Minimum stake £250 win or £125 each way.
Maximum stake £500 win or £250 each way

Rules: £1000 to bet each day.

It would help if I had an idea of what my partner was posting. I’m assuming win, place or each-way singles only. Is it three selections per day; up to three selections per day; or at least three, as originally proposed?

Can’t see anything in the rules about place only singles. In the real world I often weight bets to the place – e.g. Horse X = £100 win, £300 place. Would this be permissible for each-way? Are place only bets permissible?
 
Ok, I know it's been a long time since we 've had an inter forum competition, so these are the rules as agreed after a bit of debating, for this one.

Tuesday - 15 single players from each side.
Wednesday - 7 doubles matches, no singles
Thursday - 7 doubles matches, no singles
Friday - 15 singles matches

1 point awarded to the winner of each match, be it singles or doubles.
1/2 a point for a drawn match.

£1000 to bet with each day on Three (no more no less) selections.
The minimum stake on any 1 selection is £250 (£125 each way counts) and the maximum is £500 (£250 each way counts)

All Each way bets settled at 1/4 the odds a place

All selections to be posted before the advertised off time of the first race at Cheltenham.

You can only make one each way selection, although you can make them all win bets if you prefer.
Non runners will count as losers, so please make at least one reserve selection.

No straight forecasts, placepots, place only bets, exactas, accumulators, union jacks, or anything else.

11.30pm on Monday night and I've spotted a possible problem on both sides.
The mimimum stake on any one bet is £250, so if anyone puts less than £250 on any selection, the difference will be deducted from the selection with the highest total stake placed on it. If both of the other selections are for the same stake, then the difference (win or lose) will be deducted equally from both of the other selections. The same total stake deducted be it a win or each way bet.

okay. Seems strange to allow each-way but not place only singles. This will encourage most to pick favourites or near-favourites and stifle more exotic choices. Here's hoping some of us can find an actual winner. I'll see what I can come up with.

I have great admiration for my partner. He has a virtually flawless name. Here’s my team posting for Wednesday. SteveT will seamlessly dovetail with these selections to ensure we're covered for all eventualities. I don’t know what pairing from FF is up against us but they might as well stay in their box.
