Interesting runner 8pm Kempton tonight. Sisters in the Sky tries AW for the first time in a tinpot little race for one who has been running in Class 2s and winning one of them at Goodwood. Probably just a pipe-opener, but be interesting to see how he goes. Hollie Doyle was up for the win and gets to ride tonight.

Didn’t run badly from poor draw, held up midfield, and came through strongly in last half furlong despite hanging right without being given a hard time. Will assume a pipe opener and look for turf return fairly soon.

So how come Master of the Seas isn’t odds on in the Sefton tomorrow? Got to be the class horse of the race. He’s had the chop so maybe he’ll show his displeasure, but he ought to dominate.

High Fibre 4:45 is in my notes after his blisteringly fast run in his last run here which he won by five lengths. Put up 10lbs for it and he’s up in grade this time, but the extra furlong will suit. Not sure he’ll cope, but looking forward to seeing how he does.

MOTS wouldn't be the most reliable horse in training, which is probably why he lost his nuts, and he can pull hard too, so the step up in trip could be a problem.

Did have good tilt at Gale Force Maya in the 2nd, but bought out when I realised he's entered for a more valuable race over this c/d at the end of the month. drifted slightly since, even though Paul Kealey's put him up.

Jeez, that was expensive, though reportedly needed the run, and the Heritage Handicap still looks on the cards, even with the penalty.

They say when it's too good to be true......Megallon's 2nd at York wasa good effort but even a repeat of that doesn't look good enough on paper.

I think bookies are taking a chance that after that poor run at Ascot and him being gelded is worth them laying him at a backable price

Consider Charlie Appleby's current form of a 50% strike rate I think they will regret it

Master of the Seas a 2star**Bet at 6/4 after deductions on the machine

I stuck the two Godolphin winners in a small treble but picked Hello You instead of Cachet. If I had seen how Cachet had improved physically compared to the other one, I would have reversed my choice.

I feel your pain! Would have won the ITV7 today (along with several hundred others) if I’d picked Cachet and not Hello You

I seriously thought about putting it on the 'should be' thread but decided doing that about an 11/10 shot was a bit cheap. If I'd thought something like 2/5 was his price I would have but slightly odds against v slightly odds-on was too marginal.

Be interested to see what SirMS has made of Ikhtiraaq after getting him from the Shadwell run-down. Seems a difficult character messed up the start twice and hard to handle before winning on final run despite giving Jim Crowley a hard time trying to settle him. Probably best watched, but may have a small “just in case” interest.

Mmm, didn’t get a clear run, but wouldn’t have made much difference. Showed nothing to get excited about so it’ll be just another watch next time.

HEATHEN 4:45 Newbury

“Runs in the mile maiden at Newbury on Saturday. He’s by Lope De Vega out of Great Heavens. He works nicely and obviously he’s an unknown quantity at this stage but he's unraced and we like him.” Ed Dunlop

Interesting that he’s got William Buick up for his first run.

Charlie Fellowes, trainer:
"He's in great shape but he's had a long time off so the question is whether he's fit enough. He's surprised me this spring just how well he's worked and he has a decent draw"
22/1 (4pl) B365

Buick had him bang in the right place as they got to the sharp end and put him under no pressure when he got swamped and then finishing 9/17. I’ll look at him again.

Lovely horse runs tomorrow at Longchamp, Ancient Rome. I put him in my tracker after he didn’t get a run in 2yo colts race on Arc day. Physically stunning.

I knew I’d flagged him up ages ago! It’s only taken 14 months!

Interesting runner Miltonia at Cork tomorrow last race.
Owned by Richard McCormick, who bought her in 2001, 52 years to the day after he bought her great great grand dam for one Charles J Haughey.
Named Innocence she was Ricard's first winner as a trainer at Mallow racecourse in 1971.
She had only one live foal; Balidaress that had her breeder kept her he would not have needed Ben Dunne to finance his lifestyle.
She bred three Group one winners ; Desirable, Park Appeal and Alydaress and is ancestress of Cape Cross, Diktat, Hot Snitzel, Iffraaj, Kukeracha, Que Fenomeno, Russian Rhythm , Shadayid, Takaful, and Good Guess; all Group 1 winners worldwide.
Off 48 tomorrow evening Miltonia may provide a deja vu moment for the man where it all started fifty plus years ago.

Check thread An Capall Strikes Again ! for the full story.

Will be interested to see if Walker says anything about his Salisbury winner, Dreamrocker, in this week's Weekender. Wasn't much of a race but the 3yo filly, on her 2nd start, showed a lot of improvement on her racecourse debut (then given an excellent introductory ride by Saffie Osborne). Miss Nicholls said she felt Dreamrocker had a frame she needed to grow into, so there's possibly more improvement there.
Her half-sister Dreamloper didn't run until a 3yo and won one small race at Redcar (easily) in July before winning a Class 2 handicap at Ascot in September. She improved enormously as a 4yo and even more as a 5yo to win two Group 1s. Possibly Dreamrocker will follow a similar trajectory.

He did, in fact gave her a headline.
Expects her to take in Listed race next but plan is that she'll be in training as a 4yo. The yearling is a filly by Masar. He may get her too I suppose.
