Koy Koy was going well and was worst affected by the argy bargy, it was a blanket finish and he would have been part of it I think.

An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong, involving the winner CARRYTHEONE, ridden by Pat Dobbs, RAINBOW FIRE (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Neil Callan, DARKNESS (FR), placed fifth, ridden by Jason Watson and KOY KOY, placed sixth, ridden by Billy Loughnane. The interference was found to be accidental as RAINBOW FIRE (IRE), shifted marginally left-handed, as CARRYTHEONE, in a legitimate gap, lugged quickly left-handed, causing KOY KOY to be short of room and become unbalanced, turning the quarters of DARKNESS (FR), resulting in Watson having to take a check.

Following the race Billy Loughnane reported that KOY KOY, placed sixth, suffered interference in running.
