Couple caught my eye last week. At Sandown on the Thursday eve meeting I liked the run of EBT's Guard in the mile handicap for 3yos. This fella is out of a Nathaniel mare so I'm thinking he'll improve for further but having said that he was a bit keen here so I'm not totally sure what his optimum trip is. I backed Zipster in this race and he hated the soft ground, EBT's guard didn't look all at sea on it but he did change his legs four or five times in the last half furlong so better groound would be optimal.

The other horse is Boyfriend for the Hannon's. This colt "enjoyed" a typically awful Pat Dobbs ride at Goodwood on Friday. Drawn 1 rather than race just behind the pace he was three deep on the rail, didn't get a run and ended up being taken back and around the field before finishing like a train. He's interesting going forward hopefully with Levey up top.

5 + 3 = ?
