Flatties To Follow 2025

Delacroix despite getting edged out in desperate ground in the Futurity, is a horse I shall keep on the right side of. He’s a lovely big horse by Dubawi out of the exceptional, Tepin who won the BC Mile. She’s also the dam of Grateful.
Looks even nicer this year with a good win today in the Ballysax so has shortened to 10-1 for the Derby.

I didn’t watch it as I was out for the day...so Irish Derby more like? He’s quite a big horse from what I can remember? Maybe Aiden will pop him in at Chester to find out...

29/3 Doncaster - Brocklesbury 3rd/17. Exclamation was in the outside draw and slowly away either by accident or design. Quickly three lengths or so behind the pack he was given even more to do by moving across to the inside rail. Made steady progress, but then seemed to falter a bit as push came to shove before finishing strongly into third. Given that strong finish, the extra work he had to do after the slow start and the move across the track it looks like six furlongs will come easy.

from me!

I think there is already one but I replied to this as I'd flagged Delacroix last year. I don't know if the most recent posts can now be cross-posted?

Promethean is on my tracker from last year and he was eye-catching in the Spring Mile. This trip was surely too short for him being out of a Bering mare and I didn't back him on Saturday for that reason. He's interesting stepped up in trip.

Magnum Opus was also in my tracker last year but I took him off it when he disappointed me at the Leger meeting. He was held up like the front two in the Lincoln but was asked for his effort before Godwinson and Oliver Show so can be marked up for this effort. I can see him being competitive in the big mile handicaps going forward....he's got form over further than a mile so maybe the Hunt Cup would be a nice target for him given the stiff Ascot finish.
