Following members advice please

Hello all, I've returned to the forum after a couple of years off and I've pressed the "follow"button on a few members.
I've noticed however, that I'm not receiving notifications when said members have posted a comment.
Am I missing something? Apart from the billions of brain cells alcohol and punting has cost me

It's a guess, but try clicking on your username top right, then select 'preferences'. There are a lot of options to tick (or not). Don't think any of them specifically say 'receive notifications from someone you've followed', but one of them might be the one that turns that on.

You can also double-check that you have actually enabled the follows you think you have.

There may be something to switch on or off. I can troubleshoot this later to see what's up.
