I see the power companies are sticking their c0cks up a bit further as well now. To think that they were state owned before Thatcher decided to sell them off to her pals in the city for little more than a song. I wonder if we'll have to bail them out if global warming brings about a permanent heatwave.

We've also got another Thatcher legacy coming back to haunt us in the shape of the Malvina islands. Bad enough that young lives on both sides were lost to get Thatcher re-elected but Britain's now about to take over the most hated nation on earth title for stealing oil from a third world country (I take it there's not much of Scotland's left to steal). I wonder how Thatcher's pal General Pinochet would've voted in the recent UN Malvina's debate. Meanwhile we've still got young men and women dying for no other reason than the s c u m of the earth want to ensure access to another nation's oil and to to build an oil pipeline across another's territory.

It seems a winter of discontent is expected across Europe as the effects of bailing out the financial parasites starts to bite. General strikes and maybe even riots are being forecast. In Britain though such action will likely be limited to jbarnes and his ilk protesting about reduced bonuses. The working classes will be too busy slating the unemployed and telling foreigners to get out of our country. Doubtless those sentiments will also apply to anyone who sets foot on the aforementioned islands 11,000 km's away (English sheep sh@ggers excepted).

I don't really recall Honest Tom, and I'm sure he's probably a spiffing fellow......but this piece is a pointless howl at the moon and reads like a 6th formers Social Studies homework.

Er, last time I looked, Scotland was and is still part of Britain. Its parliament may be devolved, but it ain't yet a separate country and God help it if it ever thinks it can be. How can Britain 'steal' from itself, pray tell? That's just sentimental McToshery.
