Many thanks all; we enjoyed that , and then some !

Ballinrobe has improved beyond all since I last passed the racecourse eight years ago; tarmac drive in, new entry building, new owners/trainers/members area, new weighroom, new stabling and stable staff canteen giving a full hot meal and complimentary tea/coffee/water to stable staff.

A great welcome from all staff and managers, 32 bookies , a crowd that any major metropolitan track would give its eye teeth for.

Believe me , if you want to contrast money well invested to money wasted book the final weekend of May for a weekend at The Curragh (Guineas weekend) and Monday and Tuesday at Ballinrobe and expect your eyes to be well and truly opened.

MacHales Raceday will feature the Mayo National and a 30k Mares Handicap Hurdle, possible target for Straight Home  with an eye on repeating Jazzaway's Galway Mervue Hurdle success.

The time for dreaming is back, big time !
