Anything to go to war against Diakali with in this ?
I'm looking at maybe Bog Warrior, but is today an on or off day for him?
Last years winner Gemix seems just slightly out of sorts of late.
Thousand Stars, on the other hand, appears to be in fine fettle lately but could only manage ninth in this race last year.
Le Grand Luce -- only a nose behind Thousand Stars last month and 3 llbs better in today ?

Any opinions?

Abyssial undoubtedly has a strong chance but on ratings he has a bit to do with the front two from the Longchamp (Ambroise and Roll On Has). Think Roll On Has will be very difficult to beat but wouldn't rule out Gemix's stablemate Liberte D'Aimer, one of our jockeys worked at the yard last Summer and told me that they all thought she was a very decent filly, she's taken a while to come to herself but it wouldn't surprise me at all where she to cause a shock at 25/1.

Gemix was giving lumps and lumps of weight away to Un De Sceaux the first time they met and will have been campaigned with only this race in mind. Bog Warrior would interest me as he's unexposed over hurdles, should stay the 3m2f trip and was running a blinder against the likes of Solwhit last year at Cheltenham in a race he was injured in, he's also trading at a monster price on the PMU.

do think BW is talented but hard to catch right. weird how he keeps alternating between hurdles and fences as well.

Officially it's "very soft" but that's probably due to excessive watering as is the norm at the big French tracks.

Great call.

Cheers Archie.

I did a full preview of the race for Racing FM Live - they're a new talk radio station dedicated to racing.

Didn't have prices available at the time but I've backed Gemix E/W as can't see him out of the frame.

Holy cow ! A 60/1 Exacta.
Extraordinary tipping. Very well done indeed.

Cheers Martin
Your comments about him having been trained all season with this in mind tempted me in + the fact LA was from the same yard

I wouldn't be reading too much in to the UDS form here. He was ultimately beating a stayer over a trip too short.
