Always a good race meeting; I went there in 2002; Zenda and Landseer were victorious.
Anyways a nice handicap at 2.15 sees Orandi return to the land of his birth for Tony Martin.
Pity he drawn in the Seine as he could be a nice one for Colin Keane , especially if his French Claimer form was still the basis for his French rating , which I doubt.

I remember having lunch (Tournedos Rossini with French Fries) sat outside a little Bistro directly next to Porte D'Auteuil Station on the Paris Metro before walking to Longchamp in 1990.

Tremendous fixture tomorrow - the Prix Saint Alary (you could say it's their version of the Musidora) and the Prix Saint Georges are on the same card as the Poule D'Essai Des Poulains and the Poule D'Essai Des Pouliches and I'm really looking forward to it.

Until 2023 the Prix St Alary was a Group 1 race. Now it's a Group 2, halved in value, and this year has only four runners.

I guess the flat season for the top horses starts later than it used to because of increased attractions in the autumn such as breeders cups, champions days and weekends, and the quality of racing at this time of year has declined.

By the way the Comer-sponsored Oleander Rennen is on at Hoppegarten today. Luke Comer, currently banned from training in Ireland, is a major international property developer in Berlin, the middle East and elsewhere. He also holds the biggest land bank in Dublin and surrounding counties. He used regularly send a bunch of no hoper horses to run in his Berlin race and won it one year with a 33/1 shot.

15:25, Longchamp
Charlie Fellowes
Luther

Luther ran very well at Chelmsford on his seasonal return when he got stopped in his run at a crucial moment. He has come on significantly for that run and looks a picture. A wide draw makes things much tougher but there should be plenty of pace and he has an electric turn of foot.

I think a lot depends on what the ground is really like there today and not all French going descriptions should be taken literally - bit like UK ones, tbf! 😂

I've focused on the 1000 Guineas today.
Run a line through its last run, then Heavens Gate, is interesting at 66s.
Stamina doubts regarding Earthlight, but she was high class last season 25s seems a bit big.
Done both ew.

If you watch back the favourite Zarigana's last run it only beat Godspeed who trailed the field throughout by two lengths.
Zarigana is 5/4 and Godspeed is 33/1.

Not a bad ride there by Ryan to get Henri Matisse up? - was trying to watch the Derby Trial at the same time so I may not have had my full attention on both!

I feel Jonquil was a sitting duck. Did well to rally. He was keen early doors too.
Just expect this from Mr Moore really.

The fillies race provided one of the feel good stories of the decade with the Basher Watts syndicate beating the Aga Khan and Coolmore to win the race with a bargain basement purchase.Unfortunately Sky Sports had a split screen with commentary from some gaff track.
Sean Boyce if you are reading this you really are an insufferable bore.Do you hear me Sean Boyce.

Lost in the Stewards room. Seems a bit harsh and gutting for connections and Kieron Shoemark.

How does it work with already settled bets? I had a double on Henri Matisse/Zarigana with Betfair but its settled as a losing bet. Its now a winning bet so are they going to change that?

100 per cent certain to be resettled in your favour.

Just watched it. What did he do wrong? It’s so easy to fall foul of the stewards in France isn’t it..
He's not French and beat the home side hot-pot - he probably only sneezed in their direction for it to be enough. I actually thought Barzalona had left it too late anyway and was cursing him.

When your lucks out. Doubt the 1000 guineas result would have been turned over here. Cest la vie. Henri mattise showed a serious turn of foot there but stops when he hits the front. Moore red hot just now. Delacroix only has dante winner to beat at Epsom imho.
