Countrywide Park Homes may sound like they provide care for the elderly but the horses they own appear to be extremely sprightly at present. They’ve scored with their only two entries in the last few days: a rich vein of form. One of those winners, Jingko Blue won a class three novice handicap chase readily at Uttoxeter.

So, they run Jango Baie in the novice chase at 12.40. There’s been no time wasted, has there, pitching him over fences? Just five races under rules. I have a feeling that they might think a lot of this one and I’m happy to take on Caldwell Potter, who I know many people will fancy. I wasn’t taken with his jumping on his last win and I’ll willingly take him on.

It’s one of the things I love about national hunt racing: Chianti Classico (1.50), at the age of seven, seems like an old friend. How he’s come on since his novice days. He just keeps improving and the one thing that places him so highly is the quality of his jumping. He’s a natural and seems to love the game, too. Try as I might, I just can’t see past him in the race; he’s only had six chases and there’s no saying how much more improvement may be to come under the expert stewardship of Mr Bailey.

I’ll back both to win and double them up.

I’ll have to have a little ew pop in the Xcountry with Arizona Cardinal. I fancied the saddle off him at Aintree but that was called off. Whether this represents a consolation, I have no idea but I feel I should stick with him in a small way.

I’ll also throw a little ew on Torn And Frayed (2.25). I feel that there still might be a little more to come and he’s a nice price, I think.

Cheers Tan.

Yes, Jingko Baie jumped superbly, won going away and in a right fast time, too: an excellent display.

I don't agree about 2m being needed for CP; the breeding certainly doesn't suggest that. I'd say he needs to improve his jumping, certainly to sit at the top table.

Arizona wasn't at it today. He had a nice blow out but the jockey didn't look too perturbed, did he.

Torn and Frayed got taken off his feet but then started to make headway. Unforunately, progress was interrupted by being badly hampered by the faller. I wonder whether he needs to step back up in trip.

I didn't think CC travelled as well today but in any case, the winner is still improving and it was a big ask, given that, to concede 24Lbs. I expect they put him away for a little break now, eh?

I agree Caldwell Potter needs to improve his jumping. He looked to want to put in an extra stride jumping a few on debut and was comprehensively outjumped by the winner today (IMO)

PN though now saying he is considering stepping back to 2 miles but that could just because he didn't run up to expectations...time will tell
