Good morning!
I'm being a good boy so far this flat season in attempting to steer clear of any betting in low-class races. Only a couple of horses have hit the notebook thus far.
It was lovely to be at Fakenham on Tuesday to see some NH but I do realise that there will be few punting opportunities in that sphere over the summer.
Today, at Chester, we can see some better class races and you'll maybe know that staying races is my main interest, flat or jumps and today we have two such. Hopefully, win or lose, they'll be a decent watch and who knows which of the runners will go into the notebook with Ascot races and the Pitman's Derby on the horizon.
I've had a look at three in total:
Dawn Rising - Chester 3.05 33/1 Ew 5 places
Yes, top-weight but I'm never afraid to see horses go from group races to top weight in handicaps. I do like the look of his run in the Irish Ces at the Curragh last term and the English Ces run after that. I would say that this race doesn't have the class of those two and the 33/1 just seems mad to me.
In the plate:
Law Of The Sea - Chester 4.45 8/1 Ew 4 places
This ran a cracker in the same race (his seasonal debut like today) last season, finishing 3rd behind Ces winner Alphonse Le Grande off an OR of88. Today he's back again off a mark of 91. This meeting and either of the staying races within, have been targets in the past and although the stable isn't really firing, I can't resist a little Ew interest.
The last of my three today, and back to the jumps, is:
Choosethenews - Market Rasen 3.50 7/2 Win single
I fancied this one for my life when he ran 5th in the Eider so he has to be a fancy for this, surely.
Dawn Rising - Chester 3.05 33/1 Ew 5 places
Law Of The Sea - Chester 4.45 8/1 Ew 4 places
2 x Ew singles
Ew Double
Good luck
