Pretty sweet on Breaking Silence in the Plate. Type of horse that races handily enough which is good at Galway as it will keep him out of trouble in behind. Handles any type of going though I think genuine good ground suits him best of all. Imagine McCoy will ride it and if he does he will be shorter than 14/1 on the day. I would not worry too much about him not having a run for some time as he is a very free/keen running sort who I would think would be easy enough to get ready first time out. Of the others Paul Nicholls sends over the favourite Oslot. I presume Ruby rides him and his chance is obvious as he looks open to plenty of improvement, but that improvement will need to be forth coming for this. Most of his outings over fences have been with 4 or 5 runners and this will be a completely different test. He did win last time with 11 runners but the standard of that race was not what he will face in a couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see if Ruby rides him or instead goes for Willie Mullins's Emma Jane. She was a winner at the Punchestown Festival and she gets in on a nice weight. Ansar is a standing dish in this and while he still showed some spark on the flat recently, it is still hard to see him win this as a 12 year old and he could be lay material as he will be well backed on the day. When betting opened for this Green Mile was 14/1 but the money has come for him and he is 8/1 now. Off the top of my head Tony Martin does not appear to have a great record in either of these races. French Accordion should love the ground is it dries out but the trip is a worry. Hoo La Baloo looks like he is coming over and while he should run well his presence there could help his stablemate as much as anything else.

Megans Joy impressed me on good ground last autumn and Ladbrokes go 33/1. She'd need to run well this afternoon, mind, but she's not overburdened with 10-9 at Galway.

I thought Megans Joy ran a promising prep for Galway today. She travelled well for a long way and is entitled to come on for the run. Ladbrokes have cut her to 16/1.

Yeah I mentioned it on the other thread gus, definitely ran an eye catching race and one that screamed of improvement for the next day.

I see Little Eye is entered at this stage. Wondered what happened to him. We had him as a young 'un, bought to keep company to another colt foal, then he was sold to John Best and eventually went over to Noel Meade and came good as he matured. Was a cheeky monkey when a foal!

I love Galway, but the crowds have become unbearable for the day meetings. It's not especially brilliant racing in my humble opinion, but the atmosphere is terrific. Winners are hard to come by, obviously Weld being the main man..Noel Meade would as ever have to be fancied to win a few bumpers at the very minimum.

I've taken upwards of 50/1 about Absolute Image in the Hurdle. No idea if this one will get a run or not, but there are a couple of reasons behind selecting him.

Firstly, trainer DK Weld has a good record at the meeting. Secondly, the horse is totally unexposed over hurdles, winning comfortably on the second of two starts last season, and finishing only 6L behind Captain Cee Bee in receipt of 5lbs, in his maiden hurdle. The RP suggests his current BHB rating is 115, so if his Irish mark is anything close to this, he could be close to thrown-in.

With Accordion Etoile already an NR, all it needs is for Kalderon (disappointed last week) to come out, and this one will be comfortably in the handicap. Even from his current mark of 8lbs out of the handicap, he might be good enough.

Just need him to get into the race, and I'll hopefully get a run for me money.
