Get Up, Get Up, Get Up To Heaven...

Get Up Offa that thing.... one of the disco hits of my mispent youth. Certainly one record to get you shakin' your stuff on the dancefloor.

James Brownm for many really was the Godfather of Soul. He had is problems, he had prostrate cancer, sent to jail and was involved with drugs. That didn't stop him being one hell of a showman and was evidently great to watch line. If it didn't funk, James Brown wasn't interested.

Very sad, especially as he was hoping to be touring again next year.

R.I.P.

I could never see the attraction either in the music, which always seemed a bit "samey" to me, or the man himself, a notorious wife-beater.

Btw, it's PROSTATE not prostrate!

A true original. A massive influence and a huge natural talent

when u see some of the garbage written about droning art student bands who sound just like everything thats gone before....

But thats another story
