They're dropping like flies this year.
I don't think that I've felt this bad about a 'personality' death since we lost Carl Wilson. The brains behind the Eagles and the yin to Henley's yang that made them an irresistible cocktail of rock and country. In 1976 they sold over 45M albums in the US alone. I saw them around then on the Hotel California tour. From the 5th row of the stalls it was truly a night to remember. He co-wrote nearly all of the famous songs including, I believe, the lyrics of Hotel California. Shame on you if you can't bring at least one line to mind.
Adios Glenn. You've checked out but you'll never leave.

Jeez, another one gone. Glen Frey was an absolute legend. One of the all time great writers and singers.

Glenn Frey would appear to have died from non-rock'n'roller afflictions, so 67 is far too young

The Eagles provided many a warm, wistful, harmonious ditty: 'Take It Easy' yes, thanks for that, and a 'Peaceful Easy Feeling' oh yes

One of their toons was entitled 'Life In The Fast Lane' of which John Peel said that a more appropriate title would have been 'Life In The Slow Lane'. He was of course being disparaging but I thought it a compliment to the chaps

'Lyin Eyes' is an absolute joy

I'm expecting both Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry to shuffle off soon. Hardly particularly prescient second-sight though as they're 80 and 89 respectively:)
