What does a racing manager actually do anyway?

Usually liases between bigger owners and their trainers regarding horses running plans, targets, which to buy, which to sell etc. Not sure why Godolphin need one really when it's a very much in-house operation rather than a number of trainers like Hamdan Al Maktoum for example.

The whole thing is a carve up. Are people really expected to beleive that neither the racing manager or the assistant trainer or anyone else that had anything to do with Godolphin new about the doping?

Would have have loved to have been a fly on the wall with all this going on - there is so much more to it.

Godawful had a a fairly major clearout of staff a few years ago - work riders who didn't "fit" (i.e. had opinions) - they turned up one morning to be told they were no longer required and given a pay off. They were also told that they were not allowed to talk about it to the press (or anyone else for that matter - I just happened to know one of the lads quite well and he was fuming about it - all for suing for unfair dismissal but was persuaded otherwise as they said he couldn't take on such a powerful organisation).
