Thank you!

We took the show team of three down this morning and very well-behaved they were too! It's pretty hilarious to see some people being dragged along the cattle hall floor by a stroppy bovine but not when it's you...

It's actually a relief it was pissing down, as had it been hot and sunny, Phil would have been fretting that we weren't on silaging, so that's good - we can all enjoy the Show now! The competition is very hot and we aren't expecting to do great things - we're just happy that two out of the three are home-breds and hopefully, we won't be last in every class  :(

It never fails to amaze me just how accepting cattle are in general - two of ours are just yearling heifers and one of those has never been off the farm but after about twenty minutes looking quietly about her, she laid down and was cudding happily. Can't see many horses being quite so quiet!

Despite the weather, it's a lovely atmosphere and even though everyone obviously wants to win, most folk are only too keen to help you out by lending kit or looking out for your cattle while you're off eleswhere.

I'm off to Carlisle on Friday/Saturday for a BB sale (on my own !!), so won't be at Devon but if anyone does go, drop in at the cattle lines - you're welcome to get up close and personal with our Blues!
