According to a report on the BBC news, a regular alcohol intake can cut your likelihood of contracting rheumatoid arthritis by up to 50% - I'll be alright then, Jack, looking good for me!!
Maybe I've got a chance of being the first female in my family for two generations not to be diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis - then again.....
It seems that every week there are conflicting reports coming out that a regular (albeit small) alcohol/red wine/whatever intake is good for cleansing the blood, good for your brain, yada, yada - then straight after the news we get the adverts designed to frighten the hell out of us, lecturing us that "those units add up...." and trying to make anyone who enjoys a drink look like a social pariah. I guess it was inevitable that once the smoking ban had gone through the nanny state would start on alcohol next.
I'd be happy if I didn't hear any more of these bollocks reports, to be quite honest!
....and the less said about those bloody "units add up" adverts the better.
