I think a couple of years ago there would have been a lot more interesting topics on the forum, and instead of being part of the problem, I will try to be part of the solution.
One horse that I want to bring the forum's attention to is Grancore Girl. She hasnt really got many headlines but I have been more than impressed with her performances this year.
Her opening second to Apt Approach was franked no end at Cheltenham. Since that race, the third has won at 7/2, the 4th was second under tender handling at 4/1, the 5th has won at 9/4, the 6th has won a maiden hurdle at 14/1. These were 10l ahead of the 7th.
Her first victory was at Clonmel where she gave up the outside to no-one on an inexperienced by competent rider and won doing handstands, beating a subsequent winner. The fifth disappointed after being gambled on at Ayr.
Given the price for Apt Approach at the time for the chelt bumper it was a surprise that she was allowed go off 9/4 that day, and it was a bigger surprise taht she was allowed to go off at 15/8, two days after Apt Approach ran so well in the champion bumper at Limerick.
Again, she won without turning a hair, coming on the outside for the same jockey. In the past two weeks, the third has won at 6/1 (winning by 17l), the fourth has won at 10/1.
Well done to Thomas Ger o'Leary who after a couple of rocky years appears to have the show well and truly back on the road, and looks to have a potential star on his hands with this one. Appears to be off for the season but definitely one to look out for as well as the various formlines. It appears that few bumpers can be won at this stage without her involvement somewhere along the line.
