Good luck to all my fellow crazy runners who will be joining me on Tyneside this weekend! I doubt that there are any lurking here, but you never know!! Best of luck to all!

Sorry about that Ardross, thought it was my comp playing up as it normally does! I now know what happens when error message appears!

dvd - well done. This is my 5th run. Only been eligible since 2001, so still a newbie, but love it!

I was going to do it this year, but I decided that I am nowhere near fit enough (and my Dad is an even worse state), so we'll probably do it next year.

Good luck though!

I've never done the great north run, but I have done 13 half marathons, the last one in 1990.

I would love to be able to do another one but I'm now 48 now, and about 8 stone over my ideal racing weight, so I've probably run my last race. :D

Good luck on your participation Sue ;) there are a few on here from that neck of the woods! the board owner COL.. DVD... for one

Lets hope it turns out better than last year with the fatalities that were encountered then, and everyone comes home safe???????????

I hope all went well, Sue. B)

I almost did the Windsor half marathon, which I think was last weekend, but I hadn't done enough training - honest Ted, I will think about it again next year. I understand Richard Dunwoody was participating in the Great North Run yesterday for a spinal charity he supports.

Hi All.
Thanks for the wishes. Not my best ever run, but I still loved it and made it to South Shields. Was my 6th half marathon, coupled with 2 full marathons and countless other smaller, but just as important events. My time was 3rd fastest over this C&D - 3hr 13mins 56secs (very important) and finish position of 34998, out of 50,000. Next stop, Paris Marathon April 2007. Bring it on!!
