Ban them, outlaw them, crack down on them, and start banging people up for owning them is what I think

Thoughts?

I have a concealed carry license in KY.....I don't own/carry a gun but I did get licensed and considered it vaguely. I do think the licensing over here is less stringent than in Ireland and should be tightened up.

Just in case some horse starts getting a bit leery at the breeze-ups?

Edited my first post as I think I misinterpeted what Barack Obama said recently when he used the term 'mentally disturbed'.

I find the agents harder to keep in line, personally.

No - the concealed carry was incidental. I wanted to get licensed when I was living alone on the farm and had a pack of Coyotes who insisted on hanging around in the paddocks behind the house. They killed a few small dogs and cats locally. I'd rather they didn't eat my Jack Russell!! I just ended up going all the way and getting a full concealed carry license.

So, Marble, what would you do for those of us who shoot for sport (Game etc.)

Well lets ask Miesque: Is there a disproportionate amount of blame attributed by the media in Amercia towards people with mental health problems, in relation to unprovoked gun attacks?

And isn't it the case that it is much more common place for 'sane' people to carry out these attacks then the media and psychiatric profession would like the admit?

Yes, I think that sane people are more likely to be involved in gun related crimes/incidents here as gun access is too easy. Although, state by state it's very different as to what you through to get a license.

There's no way the right to carry firearms will ever be revoked in the US, no matter how many gun-related massacres - it would be election suicide. But if it were ever to happen, then presumably the same type of firearms licensing for recreational shooting activities that applies here could be implemented over there.

So many guns available in the US that even if it did become illegal to carry firearms, the black market wouldn't have supply problems.

Anyone heard of any news on this? Obama proposed new laws, the pro-gun lobby then did their adverts, and I have heard nothing since. Seems to have gone quiet.
