We had four rats, Bernie, Justin, George and Rupert. We're down to just Bernie and Rupert these days though. George was always a sickly runt (r, r) so we never expected him to last that long, anyway, and Justin had to be put down over Christmas.

Bernie and Rupert are characters, though we can't keep them still long enough to try and get those harnesses on them! They don't do tricks, other than the usual manic leaping that I think all rats tend to do.

I've had hamsters in the past but I prefer the rats, though they are less fastidious about where they pee.
