WISHING HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN, A VERY HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY TODAY!

and many more of them!

I think I saw him on the telly, Colin. I think he may be at Windsor right now waving his little flag!

hnnnnnhhhhnnnfffff, hhnnnnnhhhhhhhhhnnnnnfnfffnnnfffff.

My mother always told me that if you can't think of anything nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all. I have therefore gagged myself.

I would like to wish Her Majesty a happy birthday. I am sure she is a member on this forum and I would like to say that I hope and wish all her future horses don't turn out like Shining Strand. :brows:

I shall maintain a dignified silence seeing as how she's an old lady.

Only two of us stayed at our desks as she walked past the office!
Goodness knows how much it cost for her to walk 400 yards!!!!

Not particularly, my last day off was in February but at least my taxes aren't paying for her upkeep. It's my only consolation.

Jesus, you lot are moaning socialist bastards.

Fair play to Her Maj, she's looking great for 80 and doesn't look like she'll be shuffling off this mortal coil anytime soon. She is a fantastic figurehead for our country and is someone to be proud of.

To all ye miserable gits, would you seriously rather we had a prick like Tony Blair as figurehead for our country for over 50 years? Thank God he can be gotten rid of soon, I say.

On days like today, I look forward to the abolition/dissolution/overthrow of the monarchy.
Yes I'll agree too, they cost too much money to keep... off with their heads the whole lot of the so called royal family..half German & half Greek............. :o :P :)

Is this a celtic thing or what??????

It would've been if 'we' hadn't cut off a certain head! It's all curmudgeonly behaviour on the part of the Celts and Gaels, crushed under the iron-clad hooves of English chargers. Useless twits - if they'd not been so busy fighting their own pointless clan wars, they'd be yelling their heads off today for 'their' Queen!

Thought she looked great. A sense of duty to the country and the common weal that few politicos ever sincerely aspire/d to. Last of 'em, though, I hope - with a bit of luck, it'll all run out of steam, and she'll join the lesser royals and aristos with castles to keep going, by staging Family Fun Days at Windsor and Balmoral for a fiver a head.

The fact you might get stuck with an appalling old politician as president like Ireland did with de Valera ( he of paying respects at the German Embassy when Hitler died in his bunker ) is the only good reason for a constitutional monarchy.

Now President Thatcher is an impossibility it's time for the end of the royals

One of the countries largest revenue earning tourist attractions. We wouldn't get rid of Legoland, the Tate Gallery or Scotland would we?
