Just wanted to start a thread for this excellent series that starts tonight on ch5 at 10pm.

I've watched the first 13 episodes of this already and for me its the best new TV series since 24, and not far off being as good.

On other forums I use it comes in for praise from almost everyone, and had rave reviews when it was aired in the US. This is a program that I think the BBC and ITV will be kicking themselves for not getting the rights to.

Synopsis from official site

MICHAEL SCOFIELD (Wentworth Miller) is a desperate man in a desperate situation. His brother, LINCOLN BURROWS (Dominic Purcell), is on death row and scheduled to die in a few months for an assassination Michael is convinced Lincoln did not commit. With no other options and time winding down, Michael held up a bank to get himself incarcerated alongside his brother in Fox River State Penitentiary. Once he's inside, Michael - a structural engineer with the blueprints for the prison - begins to execute an elaborate plan to break out Lincoln and prove him innocent of this sensational murder.

Fun but a bit implausible ?

Yes but so is 24, makes good tv all the same :)

It's not so much what's implausible in tv fiction, but what IS plausible that's missing nowadays. Just take a look at the majority of offerings, and let me know where logic and likelihood figure!

A bold statement, have you seen Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood or The Shield?

Yeah, just watched the first episode and i was very impressed. Initially thought it was gonna be similar to Oz, but aside from the prison theme it isn`t at all.

As for the Beeb an ITV, they only seem interested in crappy cop shows and reality tv these days. Aside from the first couple of 24`s i cant think of any decent American dramas either has shown.

I was talking about quality, Euronymous and, having watched both, the West Wine kicks the Sopranos into a cocked hat.

I think the West Wing is far and away superior to any other recent offering from the US, whichever channel anything happens to be on.

Exactly. I have superb taste in film and tv. Conversely i`m easily pleased with novels and enjoy some pulp writers like Lee Child and even Tom Clancy.

Oh and my choice of women leaves much to be desired....but we cant all be perfect can we?
