Whilst introduction posts are generally frowned upon in some of the forums I frequent, I thought it would be a little rude if I didn't introduce myself in this community (because it seems to be a bloody good one, from what I've read!).

I'm Theo, and I'm relatively new to the gambling scene. I'm a 20 year old student from Bolton, studying Multimedia and Website Development. Blah blah blah, insert uninteresting personal data here. :)

I first got an interest in the horses when my Grandfather used to take me to the Ladbrokes after nursery everyday, ever since then I'd be watching the races whenever I got the chance. I vested a real gambling interest around Grand National time last year - I backed Amberleigh House, had Hedgehunter EW and was hooked after that (not in an addiction sense, of course). Since then, and up until recently, I have been making small spread-bets, reading everything that I can, and generally being a statistics whore.

I had quite a successful summer up until the jump season started, and thought it might be a good idea to find a community to join. So here I am! I've had a good read of the forum to see how things work around here, and I promise I'll be on best behaviour. You'll have to bare with me, as I'm still a young'un as far as selections and knowledge of the game goes.

Best of luck to all of you tomorrow and the future,
Theo.

PS I'm a diagnosed insomniac, which is why I'm posting so late/early :what:

Hi Theo,
Leyther myself, your your name (THEO) reminds me of a Vicky Leandros song "Theo, wir Fahren nach Lodz" A number one in Germany, centuries ago.

Hope that you enjoy yourself on this Forum.

I didn't know one could actually be 'diagnosed' as an insomniac? What does a doctor do, exactly? Call round randomly after 2.00 a.m. and see if you're asleep or not? May I suggest, young Theo, you call upon your namesake (Theo Bromine) and have a mug or two of hot chocolate at beddy-byes time. It won't help you sleep, but it tastes good! Enjoy the forum, and sign up with Gearoid and BrianH for poker games asap. They're useless at it, and you're bound to win big in no time at all.

Hi Theo....I'm on nights for a week as of tomorrow night so all insomniacs are gratefully received to relieve the boredom of the graveyards shifts!!!

Enjoy.....we not all that bad!

Heya Theo.
I'm from out your way myself (St. Helens to be precise lol) so hope you enjoy the forums and stick around.

best wishes
Martin

Quite strange, really.. I haven't had any checks so far as to whether I'm telling the truth, or not. It's been a problem all of my life, but it's only just started to affect my day-to-day routine in the last couple of years.

I've had interviews with GPs, Psychiatrists, tried various prescription drugs and have a pending interview with a chest consultant (to check for sleep apnea, at a guess).

A few of my relatives have suffered mental health problems, so I suppose with that kept in mind the doctors would believe that there is definitely a problem somewhere. However, I'm stamped and approved - no underlying problems.

Just had a terrible curry, so I'm off to the bathroom for a few hours :what:

Keep safe,
Theo
