I was just hoping someone might have a contact for the photographer in question . There was a gorgeous pic of Solerina printed in the Sunday Mirror 28th November published with no byline . I contacted Mirror Group and was redi9rected to their stills library and a very nice girl called Claire said she could'nt guarantee a result but if she found out the photographer would contact me . I've not heard back from her . Surely if a photo is published the photographer has to be paid so there must be some record of who he or she was . It was the best photo I've ever seen of her , she's really making use of herself over the flight . I would just love a huge print to frame but I've searched all the online photo agencies and have got nowhere . Anyone with any ideas

Awwww....i thought this was gonna be a pic of "the" gorgeous Solerina that posts on TH :(

How the hell are you . I was counting on a job in your new casino you know :P Good to see you around B)

If i remember correctly the job was lap dancing wasnt it? You and Kathy!! Not got the Casino set up yet and kinda gone of the whole Casino Lap dancing thing anyway......but im sure we could work sommin out on a kinda one-one basis if your seeking work and willing to travel :P

Yeah, sorry Sol...how cheeky of me!! I'll do the travelling, think its £49.99 return....just call that the first 5 free eh' ???

Thanks DG but it was'nt that one . I'll have to take a digi pic of it and scan it in . I've still got the page from the paper . Her hoofs are raised up level with her head , just at the arc of her jump and she's about 2 feet above the hurdle . Her saddle cloth is number 4 so that might give me a clue as to where it was taken . Thanks for looking that out B)

Too late :shy:

Did send you a PM Sol but it was going all wierd, dont think it sent !!!

Back to the flat now, no computer, bloody freezing and beans on toast for a week (spag bol from a tin if im feeling adventurous )

Thanks Arkright , some really nice one's of her on that site but I still havn't found the one I'm set on . I'm gonna try and work out how to scan it up because it is just the best photo of her I've ever seen . I would'nt mind but the photographer should be getting some sort of credit . It's a fantastic photo . If I were James Bowe I'd make sure I had a copy and even if you're freelance Mirrop group should give you a byline

Thanks Merlin , That's a really gorgeous one too . I'm starting to think that I might be looking for the holy grail :P I'm gonna check out her entries and find out where she last wore number 4 . Thanks though , that's one I'll print off :D

Last time she wore number 4 was in the Stayers hurdle at Cheltenham last year so it has to be an English photographer . That narrows things down

OK, the course will tell you which photographers were working there that day - there will be three or four. Phone 01242 513 014 or e-mail cheltenham@rht.net.

Then it will be a question of contacting each one to see who had a picture in the Mirror on that day. They will know, as they will have invoiced for it.

We can do this!

Thanks Merlin
You might not have caught this but my dad died on 20th dec . Sorry if you did;nt realise that but I'm so grateful that everyone has gone out of their way to pay tribute , Everything I know about racing I owe to him .

Well SOL: I was one of the first to add my condolences to your announcement with regards your great loss.... and I am not the kind of guy that bares malice!! just sorry we had a difference of opinion back last year.... but still the same helpful guy and anything I can do for you just give me a shout and I'll be there and try to help in any way that I can.... and seems to me you had a very good tutor in your DAD (its a pity he never came on here with all your coaxing that you quoted on the said thread) too and are to the fore in many aspects of the racing game and your endless love of horses........good luck in all you do!!!

I have searched for a few hours tonight for that photo but wont give in yet will look again tomorrow take care........ ;)

Sols, do what Brian's suggested re calling the course. But, if their admin records have gone west and they haven't kept a record who their course photographers were, why not call the trainer himself and ask if he's, or the owner's, got a copy of the photo? Racecourse snappers like to sell extra photos to the connections of successful nags, so it's quite possible they'll know who he was and can give you his tel no. Good luck.

Solerina,

I have that photo saved on my computer.

She has saddlecloth #4, stood off miles from the hurdle and has her hooves up just below her jaw. A brilliant action photo. Could easily be Cheltenham.

No idea how to post it on here though, but good luck.

Sol - if its any help, the bloke that does cheltenham from pleasure prints is a fantastic photographer - you will need to know the date and race, but I'm sure you do!!

his number is 08700110671, but i'm not sure what sort of code you will need. They are really nice, and will send you proofs on a sheet of all the pics they have of her.
might be worth a try first....

I've got John Beasleys number somewhere too - I know I've seen him there - will have a hunt for it later. :)
