I have a number of programs that load up when I boot up my PC such as Quicktime and my camera software, that I don't need. I don't want to uninstall the programs but would like to load them up only as and when required. Is there a way to stop them loading automatically?

Click Start
Click Run
In the text box that appears, type msconfig
Click Ok
Click Startup
Uncheck the boxes for any programs that you don't want to load automatically at startup
Click Ok
Restart your computer when prompted to do so.
Click Run
