We are almost in the year 2006, What have been your highs and lows of the past year ? Both personal and otherwise.
I will give a few and follow up later.
Lows.
My mothers health becomes poorer each year, no coincidence she has had poor health since my father died eight years ago, they had been together since they were 13 so it is not surprising.
The death of our lovely maxi pionus parrot Oscar, we tended to him each day giving him drugs, probotics, additives etc we gave him an extra 17 months of life, our vet said he did not expect him to last a month, he congratulated us on what he said was excellent care, however, it is no real compensation.
The bombings in London.
The earthquakes in Pakistan.
The floodings in Florida.
The deaths of people such as Ronnie Barker, Georgie Best.
There are of course many more which I shall come to in a later post.
Highs.
Having a lovely sister who lives in Cardiff who will travel to my mothers at the drop of a pin.
The purchase of Harvey, a young maxi pionus parrot, he can/will never replace Oscar but Bobby one of our other birds has a new friend.
The slow recovery of Abigail the young lady stabbed in the neck, she has exceeded the doctors expectations and recently gave birth.
Watching our young grandson progress.
The saving of the Russian submarine crew by the Royal Navy.
The EEC's ruling to make the Eagle Owl a protected species.
There are many others, not all personal but as aforementioned will save for a later posting.
