Hotmail Problem

I have not received any e-mail on my hotmail address in the last 6 weeks. All my contacts have been deleted and I have no idea what has happened. Am I wasting my time and should I just set up a new account? I have numerous e-mails sent to me but they are not appearing in my inbox.
 
I did see a hoax email supposedly from Microsoft saying they would wipe you out if you didn't acknowledge it.
Did you fall for that?

Not that I remember but my mail was hacked, at one stage I was getting 40+ sending failed messages a day form emails I did not send.
 
You're sure no-one else has access to it?

Do you check it regularly? The used to disable hotmail accounts if they weren't being used, which usually meant they got emptied (although you could re-enable the address later).

I had a similar misunderstanding a while back; at one stage a while back I was apparently sending 30-40 texts to an ex-girlfriend, all between the hours of 2-5am; phone company said they had 'proof' but I know it was all lies...

Seriously though, they won't disable the account I don't think Gareth ~ just checked mine for the first time in yonks and the spam is still piling up.
 
Presumably you have checked the filters and spam folder in case everything is going in there?

If you have no contacts and your junk email filter is set to 'exclusive' that's where everything will be going. If you also have 'Delete Junk Mail Immediately' enabled you can guess what that means..

Suggestion: emigrate to Yahoo or GMail?
 
Can either be accessed via a mobile? I will have to check the filters when Ig get to a pc. The erase button is gone on my phone too, not my month...
 
The account is dead. No idea what went wrong. I have opened up a gmail account instead. Annoying though because I've had the email address for at least 10 years.
