Whenever they need access the engineer chaps my door and asks permission. Are they just being polite or do I actually have the right to refuse them? They probably could access it from a neighbour's garden but would still have to enter my "air space?" to get at it. There is also a slab at the bottom of the pole with a load of wires under it.

The reason I ask is, they have supposedly upgraded my broadband to 8mbps. When they first did so I was getting around 4. This has now slipped to between 2.5 and 3.6. After being messed around by their tech support for 8 weeks I was told that at their end the line was showing 7.6 mbps and they refused to check it out saying it was probably something my end (I was given some drivel about radiators). So, can I tell them that there'll be no access to the pole until they get it sorted?
