Surprised no-one has commented on this.

Ikea opened their new SOUTHERN superstore at midnight and were forced to close at 1.30 after customers rioted in the effort to get a sofa for £45. Potential customers were abandoning their car in the middle of the road rather than miss the chance of a bargain.
Apparently Ikea have been charged with failing to control their customers and may have to play their next few home games at MFI.

Police have stated that the stabbing of a man in the vicinity had nothing to do with the store.

just shows how popular IKEA really are, they are all dieing to get in there........ :o :D or maybe they are a CUT above the rest..... :D

Its like that young lady at a DFS furniture store she was looking at this expensive sofa in soft leather.... as she walked around it she let off wind and looked around red faced!! to see if anybody had heard her... just then a salesman appeared he said "madam can I help you" "yes yes" she stutters not expecting someone to appear so quick "can can you give me the price of this beautiful sofa" the salesman replied " madam if you let off wind just looking at it!!! you'll shit yourself when I tell you the price" ........................... :D

Having visited an Ikea store once, I am totally flummuxed by its apparent popularity. The stuff is cheap cr@p and customers are treated like cattle, being herded along a specified route. I felt very bitter about the entire experience.

The management of IKEA, having solved the problems, have reassembled the crowd. The trouble is they have these two small brown plastic bits left over and they don't know where they go...

I thought one of the more amusing quotes was on the BBC News website, it was a local MP or councillor I think, he said something along the lines of "well, what did they expect, opening a store that sells cheap stuff in a poor area".....

Yes Tom, it's true but I hear that Bill hasn't lost any sleep over it. His name is Ingvar Kamprad - the IK of IKEA - and his personal fortune is estimated at 400 billion crowns ($53 billion).

Gates's fortune is put at $47 billion according to the latest "rich list" in Forbes magazine.

The sole reason that good old Ingvar - who still saves money by flying economy, though I bet he gets lots of upgrades - has overtaken Bill is the dollar's slide against other currencies.

By the way, Edmonton has got nothing on Jeddah. When IKEA opened the branch in Saudi last September there was a rush to obtain discount vouchers that were on offer. Three people were killed and sixteen injured in the stampede.

Does anyone ever stop to think why is their stuff so cheap?

I'd like some real insight into where this stuff is made, by whom and whether they receive a decent wage.....

Does their bedding still come in strange sizes? i remember buying some pillowcases a few years ago and finding that my pillows didn't really fit.
