The cheapest drink I can find in the bars here is 2 pints for €2. Criminal, so it is. It's really f*cked up my budget <_<
 
I have to confess not being much bothered by Aintree. Too many equine deaths in recent years and an impatient desire for the Craven Meeting are the cause .
 
I should add that a few places will do a pint for €1.30.

As for being out of the country for Aintree, if I'd been at home I might have been nabbed for other duties, whereas I'm out here blissfully on my own, eating, drinking and walking (yes, that's with an L) to my heart's content, and no shortage of sports bars where I can see the racing and even have a bet if I don't manage to get them on online earlier in the day.

It'strying torain atthemoment but otherwise the weather has been fine - pleasant enough to walk around without a jacket but not so sunny that I need to splash on the factor 20. B)

From Benidorm, that is about a 1,000 mile round trip.
 
The prices over there have gone up something shocking since the Euro. I can remember the heady days when pints were only 100pts (about 35-40p). Pity I was about 17, as I could only drink about 3 or 4 before virtually falling over. Now it costs me a fkin fortune if I want to get drunk.

Ah, those were the days.
 
Found a couple of places doing a pint for €1,20 and another claiming the're doing a pint for 0,80 from 2.30pm-6.30pm.
 
Found a newish Celtic Bar yesterday - good musician.

Also, the place doing the pint for €1,20 gave me a plate of peanuts (doesn't happen in many of the cheap places places here) with it.

You'll be pleased to know I've got the form books with me and have stocked up for a few hours' study today B)
 
Hate to say I told you so, Mo.....

as Paul/Relks say - it's only about a 1200km round trip & a drink is far cheaper down here!! Not to mention the honour of seeing myself & Relks.... :D
