I'm looking for websites that give in depth coverage of racing internationally, like Racing Post does with UK/Ire, Emirates Racing in UAE and France Galop in France. Preferably with trainer/owner search so you can look up who has what etc, and preferably an option for English, but if necessary can translate in Google. Any of the following countries: Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

UK/Ire: http://www.racingpost.com
France: http://www.france-galop.com, http://www.equidia.fr
Dubai: http://www.emiratesracing.com/
USA: http://www.drf.com/, http://espn.go.com/horse-racing/, http://form.horseracing.betfair.com/horse-racing/040611, http://www.betusa.com/racebook/racing_tips_quarter,
http://www.horsehats.com/HorseRacingPicks.html,
http://www.bloodhorse.com, http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com, http://www.thorougbreddailynews.com
Hong Kong: http://racing.hkjc.com/racing/english/index.aspx
Germany:
Italy:
Japan:
Singapore:
Malaysia:
Australia:
South Africa:

Thanks Chef. Both seem good sites for news etc, but do either of them have trainer/owner search? I can't see it, but maybe missed it.

The US sites are quite complicated Simon but you invariably have to pay for the information your seeking - I rarely use them seriously but I have sent a message to my mate in Canada who's a serious player on the US racing but it may take a few days for a reply.

Thanks very much Chef. That's a shame, if only every country could make a site like France Galop.

He got back to me quite quickly but I don't have the time to review them yet.

Betfair/Timeform have a decent website here : http://form.horseracing.betfair.com/horse-racing/040611

DRF is the Daily Raceform simikar to UK Racing Post http://www.drf.com/race-entries

Bet USA is another decent website http://www.betusa.com/racebook/racing_tips_quarter

Horse Hats is good just click on past performances http://www.horsehats.com/HorseRacingPicks.html

Thanks again Chef, all good sites and going on the bookmark bar.

Thanks guys. So we have the US, Hong Kong, UK, Ireland and France sorted. Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa and Australia to go.

Anymore countries where racing is to a good standard that I've missed?

One I'd be interested in is Barbados. The Sandy Lane Gold Cup is one of my favourite races.

Don't forget to add New Zealand, Simon. Some very fine breeders there and we did have a fad for their jumpers back in the 1980s (LORD GYLLENE, etc.), although that's since petered out in favour of the French. High-standard racing with good grass cover as you'd expect from a land renowned for its good grazing.

Pretty much finished the list bar Italy, any ideas?

Can anybody think of racing in any countries that are worth following?

Simon, I take it you're not interested in trotting, only racing? If you like the trotters, there are loads of Canadian tracks in particular and sites for them. Just Google up 'Canadian trotting tracks' and away you go.

The only other country emerging into the world of racing, that I can think of right now, with some fine studs and a few good nags, is Brazil. Poland has been rebuilding its beautiful studs after their decimation in WWII and the following poverty years, and there are some Polish-breds working quite well over here in primarily NH. But it's a way off yet competing internationally and attracting hordes of raiding parties.

Likewise, the Czech Republic, held back by years of the repressively corrupt Czech-Slovak government, is revitalizing itself after the split, but really only attracts a handful of NH horses for the Velka at Pardubicka. Worth watching for the future, though.

Trotting wouldn't really by my scene Jon, it's too slow. Canada is a good thought though, they do have some big races at Woodbine I think. Does anyone know much about the standard of their racing otherwise?

Brazil could be worth a look, it's certainly advancing rapidly in everything else. Do they get many international raiders or international owners having horses in training there?

Any international owners have horses in training there, IS?

That's the main reason for wanting websites where I can get updates on various countries. I like to follow the Tabor horses in the US, Sheikh Mohammed in Japan/Aus etc.
