OK, it's the first post on Chaumi's blog - Bets, Betting, Pre and Post Race Analysis (and some occasional other thoughts).

So why the blog?
Well, I figured it's about time I kept some sort of record, though every win is stored up top somewhere. What's not stored is every loss, because the losers are filed in the 'forget and move on' bin. But actually I'm not sure that's optimal going forward. Yes, you have to forget to carry on playing sometimes, especially when they hurt...or you miss them (as I still occasionally do, Sopelana yesterday being a prime example).
Maybe getting it all down will help 'remember' where the strengths are and where they're not.
Unlikely I'll post here pre-races. Not enough time, and I often adjust/adapt depending on prices. There may not be enough time to keep it up anyway, but let's see what happens. I'm supposed to be working right now on a US-based sports betting predictions site. Have a deadline by this weekend to have a bunch of stuff ready. I'll do it, but horses come first, as always

- 49 years now betting on horses.
- First winner: Strawhill 8-1, courtesy of my Dad. With my first bet. Hooked for life. Think I had 2 quid on it.
- First big winner: Path Of Peace in the November Handicap. 25-1 in the morning, in the days you had to actually go in the bookies on the parade.
- Proper big wins: Two. No need to say how much, but suffice to say I couldn't ever lose that much back unless complete stupidity took over. Anyway, it's now all in bricks and mortar. The last one was some time ago now (Imperial Commander, I will never forget you), and I'm still trying to do it one last time again. That day might yet come.
