This morning I was woken by the sound of a cat fight inside my house as my poor old cat was attacked by a rancid ginger animal that has been sneaking through the cat flap and eating her food . She has a few scratches and was so upset she wet herself .

She needs the cat flap to get in and out when I am at work but I am fed up to the back teeth with this evil ginger thing who despite the fact i chase it off comes back

At present , wringing its neck seems an attractive proposition , but a cruel one. Any ideas on how to stop it coming back . I am not keen on keeping my cat in witha litter tray

I appreciate that you are not keen to do it James but if she is trained to use a tray it might be the best short term solution.

Once the source of food is removed, hopefully, the ginger bastard will lose interest and find another venue for his free lunch.

And then madam can revert to her usual routine.

If you set your cat flap to out only, then after a while, your cat will learn and only go out when she needs the loo, about half way through the day. That may work. If not, I threw tennis balls at the cat that kept doing that in my house. he never comes in the garden anymore.

Kick it out, literally. Once it's flown through the air a few times and out of the door it will learn not to come back. My mum's house is a cat-free zone as she used to have one that used to mess in her garden - every time I saw one there I'd let the dog out who'd chase it and try to catch it - a fantastic deterrent to cats.

Buy a magnetic cat flap. Your cat will wear a magnet on her collar that can open it, and ginger sod shouldn't be able to.

40 feet paul, 40 metres would involve some kind of motor to power it.
I do favour the tennis ball approach, our cats didnt get picked on at home, but they became very tough when me or paul were in the garden

The magnetic collar/flap does work, since I had one for my cats in the past. However, one day there was an almight hullabaloo and they came flying in, pursued by a giant tom, who wasn't wearing any collar, magnetized or not. He was so big he also brought part of the flap with him! That IS the most sensible suggestion made, though. Until you install one, it would be better to remove any food that's left down all day and only feed your cat at specific feeding times. That way the stray won't find any food and may mooch off elsewhere.

Look out, he's back James

You use poetry to scare away cats? Hell, I knew some of old Rob's went on a bit, but that's impressive - what happens, do they keel over with boredom?

Not at all Martin.....

A Machine Gun would be ridiculous.....Wheres the challenge!!!!

Double Barrel, Two chances!!!

Id also wait til the moggy is outside...and going away from the house!!!Otherwise Your cat flap will be a cat-gap, and youl have a nice repair bill on your hands!!

Oh the irony. A room full of animal lovers advocating a Scarface type death for a furry ginger pest of a small animal. The sweet irony

If it's a poor wee stray, kinder to feed it, but outside the house, round the corner of the garden or under the bushes. It may only be looking for lurve, and somewhere warm on these bitter nights...

Personally I prefer Berettas....B)

Just give the thing a damn good kicking, it won't hurry back after that!
Parazzi all the way for me, except they have a price tag to die for B)

Or there is always SKB, whom actually on a side note could be sponsoring me.
