Do people not realise that these leak sound and if you're on public transport they are serious noise polloution offenders. I may kill myself after two bus journeys today.

Granger. No im not concerned with his safety at all. Didnt want to stop him killing himself that's all. If cycling was extra dangerous in Dublin then I would have suggested it

As it happens I cycle round London a lot. Dangers are exaggerated in the press simply because so many cycle now and thus drivers are much more aware. I find cycling in the country more worrying

I knew someone who was a bus driver and was a right ******* really. On pension days with all the coffin dodgers standing up holding their shopping he loved to ram the anchors and sent the eggs and old biddies flying everywhere. He said it was highlight of his week

You are reading my post wrong

Brush past them and "accidently" pull the jack out from the offending player. Then, after the vermin shouts at you saying you pulled his headphones off, exclaim innocently that you hadnt realised you had as the volume was the same!

(I managed to win a set of Dr Dre Beats headphones at work - best £1 ever spent!!!) I hate in-ear headphones, spent agest trying to find decent over the ear ones - Skull Candy seemed the most affordable option but in comparision to the Beats, its like putting two plastic cups over the ears!

What the **** is Gearoid doing on a bus? I thought he was a high end punter.

On our trains there are quiet coaches where iPod's and the like are not permitted.

On more local trains the units are so loud that that is the only noise you hear. Well, that and the screaming kids.

There was limo driver strike today in Dublin due to the proposed "length tax", whereby you get taxed according to your length.....I was also on strike but don't have a limo....

This is the reason Gearoid had to use public, or as he calls it, "pov" transport.

My taxi bill recently has been nosebleed stuff. You can't get to 100k that way. As Granger mentions Power Tower is in a horrific location. The bus to Dundrum and a stroll in is the best option at 7am.

As for Clive

Now 5 bus rides in a row with an offender I'm near the edge. Should I just tap these guys on the shoulder and explain how brain-dead they are?

Do surely, especially if he's bigger than you, violent, and on the edge. You should be as obnoxious and as condescending as possible...easy enough for you...

Are you based in Beech Hill in Clonskeagh these days?

T'was worse back in the day, Slim!
Maybe before your time, but some might recall the Boombox of the eighties. Huge 40 watt shoulder-carried units.
Seriously heavy-duty noise pollutants pumping out (usually) Bob Marley stuff.
Honestly, todays iphone earphone leakage is only a minor irritant in comparison.
