Hi Everyone..............

Im having a bit of a problem with the magic sign and wonder if anyone can help me.

I have had quite a few bets this year on Smullen to win the Irish flat jockey championship, I did it with 2 bookmakers, Boyles and Ladbrokes.....Laddies were still 8-11 Smullen when Smullen was about 12 ahead after the Galway festival! Ayway, after reading various papers and watching ATR, I was sure Smullen was crowned champion 2 weeks ago, indeed, on one of my betting slips, it states it ends 4th Nov.........Unfortunately, I cant find any article on the internet with Smullen champion jockey 2007 yet.

Anyway, today, I went into Laddies and asked to get paid out....the cashier had no clue, didnt even know who Smullen was!! They rang head office, they say the season now ends in December. Is that true???? Does any of the irish member know anything regarding the championship?? I just had a look at the fixure list and there were about 3 meetings left, given Smullen is still well ahead, Im happy enough. However, what if he is pipped to the line?? Given on one of my slips, the cashier wrote it finishes on 4th Nov, I should have a case shouldnt I???

Meanwhile, Boyles paid out 2 weeks ago......

Thanks in advance

Looks like Dundalk takes a bit of a breather after that until the end of February.
Presumably there isn't enough horses kept in training in Ireland over the winter months to enable them to justify having more meetings?

This year was seen very much as a introduction/testing of the waters Arkwright. I would imagine more fixtures will be likely in the future.

Lots of bookies pay out early on different events when the result looks as good as in the bag. Guess this is whats happened.

In order to get themselves a free mention in tomorrows paper.

"Such-and-such are paying out early on the whatever event". No other reason.
