We don't know how many meeting we are going to get so it's hard to get too excited about tomorrows card at Naas. One thing that must be considered before steaming in is that some yards might not play the meeting like normal years. Aidan O'Brien (4-24 16.67% in March Curragh/Nass last 5 years) has not run one as good as Sir Dragonet for as long as I can remember and those presuming he will need the run will need to think about this logically. There is no target for Sir Dragonet to be prepped for and he will go better in the ground than the usual types he has run this early. At 4/5 I think he is almost a bet but if not I certainly would not take him thinking I'm being clever.

I thought exactly the same thing and wouldn’t surprise me if the top trainers see this as an opportunity to nick a couple of decent races before they (possibly being forced to) put them back away for later season targets.

The first race is again unusual as Aidan O'Brien has not run one in this race for the last 5 years. Uncle Mo has a small number of runners but a fine record as a sire over here being 7-18 (38.89%) A/E 2.48 but has not had one run one on heavy going. I'd be slow to take this one on too at 4/5.

Second guessing AOB is like trying to plait fog imo, but I wouldn't have him as into nicking 27k races, myself.
Nice to see some flat racing, though.

I'm not looking to take any dogmatic stances on what his runners will do but it would be foolish to assume they will all badly need the run like previous years.

Paddy Tworneys horse in the Group 3 anyone?

Ravens Cry.

I can't help thinking why not run it in a handicap off 93! A very interesting runner because you can obviously put a line through the last run.

Some of my best winners from the last flat season in England were when backing horses (including fillies and mares) who had won big handicaps when stepping up to group three's. I don't think there is that big a difference.

Different circumstances here but just thought I would put it out there.

She is very interesting. She was sent off 3/1 to beat Blissful (7/2 tomorrow) when she was slowly away and ran no race LTO. At 8/1 tomorrow she is very much on the shortlist. They have gone mad this evening betting the Lyons horse from 3s into 7/4. I'm not sure there is a 7/4 shot in this race.

If I had a bet in the race it would be Halimi @10/1 with B365. Has 15lb to find with the fav, but is a c/d winner which acts well on the ground. Ran well fto last April, too.
Of more interest would be In From The Cold in the 3 o'clock. Ticks every box & double figures generally.

I am backing Dark Vadar in the 6F handicap and will add the bottom Starlite Dancer to top up with a lucrative SFC.

Great shooting Reet at a nice price. Hope you had it off.

What a price Numerian went off at.

I say it again. Don't dismiss handicap form as inferior in the listed and group races.

Fav blew up, trying to get away with not being fully fit and might just be a dog.
