I thought that there had been some success, internationally, in tracing paedo rings because of their access to online child pornography. It's likely that these horrible markets in child abuse will exist anyway, without the use of the Internet, through mobile phone links and the usual tried and trusted ways of one knowing another, so blocking access to child porn sites wouldn't stop child porn being made and traded via DVDs, as it was via videos previously, and photographs before that.
Rather than fiddle about with trying to close the sites, surely those concerned should be spending more money in increasing and expanding methods whereby they can track accessors and arrest them within hours of their viewings? It's not good enough that one has to wait for some sad sack's computer to go for repair, and the repairman find the trace - if there's the technology to create links, there must be the technology to trace them.
