What a farce.
Seems the "coggins" (sp?) on Volume's hooves are too long; but they have to remove the shoes to replace the coggins. 1 inch coggins allowed in UK, but only 1/4 inch coggins allowed in ROI.
How come this wasn't inspected before now?
At this stage the race is 25 mins late; the other fillies are sweating up in the parade ring; my price is drifting with every minute passing.
Too much to ask these expert stewards and authorities to bloody run a show properly and efficiently?

yeah doubt you'd be happy if you backed tapestry. great run from her all things considered.

They weren't actually caulkins which protrude perpendicular from the shoe down into the ground for grip but trailers which protrude parallel to the shoe at the heel to help prevent a horse kicking itself if they're narrow/close behind. The Irish stewards interpret the rule differently it seems and also have a different length allowable.

It was farcical she walked the pre parade for half an hour with a steward present and no one noticed until well after she was tacked up and in the parade ring. Nobody benefitted from the delay, so unfair to the fillies.

Colm O Donoghue was not complaining but in fairness an unnecessary delay for all concerned especially with thunder rumbling menacingly and coming closer.
Cumani always close to some controversy; it is his duty to know what does and does not go internationally; he has had plenty of practice after all.
