Was reading the michael Winters post and it reminded me of this .....am shocking at names to faces. Wonder if I anyone can inform me on this chaps name .

In either the October or November meetings there was an Irish trainer but might have been owner also, he had a cpl of good priced winners and was interviewed. Fairly old chap, 70ish, diminutive stature (ex jock ? ) - very colourful enthusiastic and engaging. Really strong deep fast paced southern irish accent , presenter was struggling and I remember having to 'tune in'. He was throughly informative and engrossing

He might not have been a trainer even but was definitely connected to the winning yard somehow, so may be something to do with McConnell - but it was a 'surprise' type interview to staff as yard won twice at the events at decent odds.

Sorry for being vague but I do remember thinking who is he exactly, then it went straight to next race without a 'ohh thank you Mr xxxx there' link

Ta guys - must have been one of his yard workers, wasnt used to being interviewed having the shpeel ready, but was a known figure in the irish racing circles - was like talking to a chap in the pub if you get my drift ......

Right ..... Coole Cody it is in the Plate for me [emoji106]

< edit! .... I meant to say Go Another One in the Kim Muir !>

Cheers Beef, def not Mike tho, was a little shabby old man but yep equally could have been a staff member from his yard if he had winners then too.

Am sure the Emerald Isle residents would know him str8 off. Absolutely nothing to do with the Business side of the yard, but knew his horses inside out and described exactly what his horses would be thinking at each part of the course without even watching replay. Fascinating little old fella, struck me as an ex old pro jock

Ps - on Chatham Street Ladd in that Novices chase
