Former Coronation Street hunk Adam Rickitt has made it on to a list of candidates to become a Tory MP, the party has confirmed.

Rickitt, a gay icon, is hoping to become a Member of Parliament at the next general election after Tory officials put him on the list of hopefuls.

He will now have to apply to Tory associations in individual constituencies in the hope of securing a vacant seat to fight the next election. A Conservative Party spokeswoman said: "Adam Rickitt is on our list of candidates."


If he is anywhere near as bad at politics as he is at acting or singing then he is doomed

Would you say that Frank Bruno,that hetro-sexual icon is standing for election to the labour government.?

Ardross's post looks like it was copied from elsewhere. The real disgrace is that no credit was given to the original writer.
 
It was copied from the one tel website - usually the heading comes up . Melendez grow up
 
I have to admit I have trouble with AR being described as a 'hunk'! An attractive but slender young man, regardless of his sexual persuasion - unfortunately, one's predilection for male or female partner is still not something that is passed over without comment these days, and is still often kept hidden in certain circles in case careers are threatened. One day, perhaps, we'll all be really grown-up and the vicious biases promoted by various religious adherents, hysterical bigots, and gossip-mongers, will be so much dust.
