No actually it was better than that. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible from the roar and Constitution Hill routing them like that..:<3: and Honeys win took the roof off.

HUGE crowd and everyone was buzzing to be there.

Oh and I had an interesting encounter during the second last. I was standing out on the front lawn (tarmac bit) watching the race and Rich Ricci was next to me. He couldn’t watch Gaelic Warrior due to nerves so someone (one of his entourage) was telling him how it was running but he was clueless so I took over...quite amusing. Shame it didn’t win, I might have got a drink out of him.

[emoji16] people forget that nerves are nerves whoever you are and however many horses you’ve got… not sure how they do it - I was bad enough with one [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I take it you enjoyed yourself then :). I do wish I’d been there to see Constitution Hill, it was some run and must have been fantastic to watch. When he goes on to great things you’ll be able to dine out on “I was there” stories. Honeysuckle, too, wow.

Did you enquire about his flowing locks?

Great that you enjoyed it Jinny.
December 2010 after races at Leopardstown Baldeagle and me were in Kiely's pub Donnybrook having a nice lamb shank meal and wine when in walked Rich Rici and WPM.
The height of the Financial crash there were no more than six in the bar.
We watched amazed as WPM sat quietly nodding drinking his Guinness while Ricci did his full comedy routine complete with Minister for Funny Walks sketch, trilby, sunglasses and all.
Little did we realise World NH domination was being plotted in front of us as Rich had about seven horses at the time.
A definite "I was there " moment.
I hope he is not reading this, if so, tough luck today; It cost me RICH, IT COST ME!!!!

I actually wanted to plait his hair  It’s ridiculous! Actually a while afterwards when he was back in the winners enclosure at the runner up, a former forumite said to me he was standing on his own and there looked to be tension between him and Mullins? I didn’t notice....I was too busy thinking about earlier when he was stroking my arm..:ninja:

He will be moving them all to Venitia William's yard after she wins the gold cup with Royal pigalle.

It was indeed good to be back but Tuesday was not a pleasant experience in Members after the start of racing. They let too many people in and the bars, catering outlets and viewing areas cannot cope. I'm inclined to the view that 60,000 is the safe limit.

And the prices were astronomical! A round of drinks....a Diet Coke, a Doom Bar beer and a glass of revolting red wine that came out of a tap and was actually fizzing came to £23!

Ain't long got back absolute cats and dogs all day:D

Didn't buy a beer there, had a couple in Cheltenham rugby club beforehand

Didn't buy any food there either, bought a small Pork loin joint yesterday for a fiver so made my own Pork and stuffing rolls to take with us

Me and my 2 mates probably saved about £25 on the food

Off to Uttoxeter on Saturday now:D

Someone on Twitter showing a pic of a plastic cup, small one, of a G&T which they said cost them £14.

Must admit I am not looking forward to the number of people tomorrow and wish his race was the first one as going to be a long day waiting for the 5th, and I'm stressed out enough as it is now.

Revisiting this thread re prices which again were ridiculous on Saturday. But what was worse was the appalling customer service in virtually every bar or food counter we went too. The beers were over half froth and when questioned the staff just looked at you...almost in a defiant way because they were not white and it almost felt like they were about to scream racism at my complaint.

The Mandarin bar where we went for a cup of tea/coffee, the till was down. So you ordered you drinks/food one side then had to go to the other side of the room carrying your drink to pay....how many people didn’t? Well me for a start because quite honestly after they ripped me off for a round of drinks at the Festival I thought a free cup of tea and coffee was acceptable.

I normally bet at the betting shop as you walk under to go out where the lawn used to be. There were precisely TWO cashiers there...all day. So many people just did not get bets on. And they were so unbelievably poor at taking the bets too. Come the Festival, there needs to be some serious staff training going on in every way.

I feel another email coming on.....

I dread to think what my next credit card bill will be. Ridiculous prices which are less painful at the time when you’re not actually handing over cash

My BBB won't go there again as everything went wrong that day, and he's lucky to be back racing at all as vet said he was finished 4 days after, but a friend and I discussing whether we wanted to go this year as not our favourite meeting purely cos of the number of people and the cost. We decided we may go on the Tuesday to see Honeysuckle if she goes that day but I'm slightly baulking at the price. and the restricted movement on the day, as just can't see it's justified aside from 180 mile round trip for me and parking costs on top. Shouldn't be that cost /viewing are the reasons we may not go.

I'm struggling with prices in my front room recently. Plenty of ice for drinks though, I just fill the sink at 3 in the afternoon.

Tell me about it. I had a horse with my late friend and we planned a coup backing him from 33/1 to 11/8 favourite.

I was so wound up I took 2 valium before I went racing to clam me down.

They worked so well when my horse bolted up and passed rge winning post 5 lengths clear I barely raised my one hand above my head and went hurrah like a sqeaky mouse.

The coimbination of worrying about your horse being injured or being beaten when the cash is down is not fr those with a weak heart. Incidentaly I never ever took anything beafore a race again.

I would have cut off my arm to have been there..Must have been awesome. Alas I doubt if I will ever see Cheltenham again as I have too many commitments here:(
