Even if you follow another faith or indeed none, I recommend this series which is being shown again (on ITV3, I think) this evening. I reckon everything about it is superb. It's almost as good as the book...

I don't know why you'd think having a crush on an actor was blasphemous, Sols, however holy the part he played. You wouldn't consider yourself criminally-minded if you'd had the crush when he was playing a gangster or a murderer, would you?

It's hard to imagine how Robert Powell could go from being JC in this series to co-starring (I use the term very loosely) with another JC (Jasper Carrott) in a very poor TV comedy series, whose name I happily forget.
