The man is an alcoholic.I like him on a personal basis but when you consider the amount of drink driving that goes on in the country there is a lot of hypocrisy.
 
Somehow, I don't think the National Safety Council will ever make the real drink driving ad, the one where a man in his 50's who has been doing it for years gets plastered down the local and drives home,

Instead, it's all little boy racers and the stigma that goes with that - it's the habitual drink driving amongst the older generation that is the silent killer
 
Its part of the culture.If I said I was at a certain event in Templemore last Thursday where Michael McDowell was present,anyway afterwards there was a meal and a good few drinks and the amount of people driving was unbelieveable.
